Impact assessment
An impact assessment provides information about the impacts produced by an intervention, whether positive, negative, direct, or indirect. Properly done, it can improve and develop the effectiveness of a project.
Monitoring and evaluation
involves the tracking of project outputs and outcomes as indicators of project effectiveness, or the extent to which the project achieves its stated objectives. Performance monitoring is primarily a management tool.
